Thanks much. We actually did one for our own site using an online .ico maker. Since Lea wants us to supply a new iteration of the .ico, we hope we can find the website that we used.

Stay tuned.

Not that site, but something similar. See the thread on the testing forum. The new file is ready.

Okay, Lea....after you installed the new file, we did the following:

Logged out of MM
Closed our browser (IE8)
Cleared all MM-related files out of Cookies and Temporary Internet Files
Re-opened IE8
Logged into MM again

Still no favicon displaying in IE8. And it's not showing in Temporary Internet Files.

Undecided

I added the reference to it in the <head>

If you still don't pick it up, clearing History is what seems to have fixed it for some people.

We vaguely remember from a previous favicon issue that clearing History helps. So we just did that. Didn't help, though.

We've also heard that the particular wording of the code may make a difference. See our attached notes from the other incident.

Sorry this is becoming such a difficult problem to fix.

RE: Favicon?
Okay now try it. I read it was really picky about the code and picky about where you put it, so I put it exactly like you wrote there, and hopefully it works. Fingers crossed!

Then I feel lucky that this was one of the new features that I was able to see immediately!

We can see it at work. Our work puter uses IE8. Will check our home puter and see. Hope it's not the puter.

Thanks,

I can see it on IE8 also. No problems.

I can also see it on my phone. Smile

Happy  Problem Solved! Guess How?
It seems that IE didn't like the fact that we had left the old favicon.png in our Temporary Internet Files. Deleted the PNG and....wah-la!....the .ico file worked.

Thanks for all the help.
