poem I wrote about everyday chaos in my life. unsure if it'll trigger anyone, so wanted to caution it.

Entering the dark forest
Seeing only shadows
And haunting silhouettes
Heart pounding

I'm being drawn in
I can't resist
Compelled to follow
I have to go in

The darkness is violent
The wind fierce
A storm raging
Hostile all around

Each step is getting harder
Pushing against this storm
No clear direction
Lost in this hurricane

Clinging to nothing
Hope elusive
No escape
Life is leaving

Screams for help
Drowned by the wind
No one can hear me
Silenced by the storm

I crawl on the forest floor
Clawing at the dirt
Trapped in violence
Raining down on me

I'm exhausted
Bloody an bruised
Beaten by this force
Hidden in darkness

Still the storm rages
How can I survive
Getting harder to breathe
My voice gone

Bury me here
Beneath violent shadows
Darkness covers me
Like a cold blanket

Do you see
Do you hear
Feel my touch
Know my pain

I felt myself floating
Like I was getting lighter
As though hovering
Above the forest floor

I was being carried
By someone strong
Who heard my cries
Above the storm

Being rescued
From this awful place
Resting quietly
In his embrace

I saw you
I heard you
I felt you
I know your pain

I was sent to you
In your time of need
To rescue you
I'm the open door
