Bad Dream or Bad Memory? - puzzle - 05-15-2015

I had a very real dream (or memory) early this morning and it is still disturbing me. It was so real and when I woke up my host did not want to come out. I had to talk her into coming out; it took 45 minutes! We are afraid it is something that happened to one or many of us and we do not know how to deal with it. Do we mention it to the therapist or shrug it off as a bad dream that simply scared all of us? Undecided

I do what my instincts tell me to do. Even if it was a very bad dream it may mean something re what is happening in your life. They say the dream time is when we work through things that don't come out when we are awake. I have had dreams that have been horrid and turned into an introduction to a memory.

Thank you The People. That helps.

agreeing with the People. usually if we dream something that really upsets us there is something in it that is relevant, even if what happened in the dream isn't specifically 'real'. for example (talk of dream detail)..

last night we dreamed we were being chased by zombies and had to stay floating in the air above their heads carrying two other people to stay safe but kept getting tired and sinking. now, obviously, this never happened IRL, but the emotions and trade-offs necessary in trying to stay safe from danger all around and rescue others while not being completely successful...oh yes, very familiar.

agreeing with the people and nats. when i had those kinds of dreams i did share them with my t (i am speaking in past tense because i am without a t at present) and i found it very helpful, if for no other reason than talking about it made it less scary.

Agreeing with everyone. We get embarrassed to talk about our dreams because we fear that people will think that we're crazy. And dreams show us at our most vulnerable, and we don't want to give outside people any "ammunition" with which to hurt us.
