Family, safety and friendship. This is a safe place where we have learned to grow and trust...We have learned here we have choices and that even bigs can be snookies :-). There are days when we are very lost and confused and we can come here and just sit or get direction or just cry. It means life to us cause we see others hangin in and healing and it inspires and encourages us. We are greatful MM our home our family is here.

Mosiac Minds has been a place that we can all express ourselves individually and as a group. It helped us to have a voice, because for so many years we thought that no one was listening. Now they are and it is AWESOME! Mosiac Minds opened the door to our creativity, uniqueness, and openess. It allowed ones to change that felt they couldn't before, and some to come forth to tell what happened. Mosiac Minds continues to be a very large wonderful part of our lives. Forever we will hold it and its members in our hearts to carry with us for all time.

A big "thank you" to the board, staff, and community of Mosaic Minds for creating and maintaining a place where we and others like us can truly be ourselves; can form relationships that are genuine and substantial; and can make a difference in our little corner of the world.

Our kids say "MM is cool!" and our teens say "MM rocks!" And we all say we're really, really glad this community is here.

For us, MM is a place to laugh, cry, help and be helped, experiment, make mistakes, make friends, learn, and grow. It is a place of identity and comfort, of safety and nurturing. It is a haven and a home. And we can't imagine our life without it!

We are still new here (just over seven months), so still are feeling our way, sometimes. We read EVERYTHING, lol, every day, and feel such a sense of safety, camaraderie and acceptance. We can't count the number of times that we have been dealing with one issue or another and have come here to find a thread in progress about that very thing. We feel blessed to have found this haven.

A home away from home....a place where we can be whoever we are at any given time, no matter how we present, no matter how blended or separate we are. MM and the friends we've made here have helped us to grow, to heal, to find joy and laughter, and yep, even tears, along the way.

I often joke that I came to MM "with the furniture," which is true, as I had the privilege of being part of our founding crew. I joined that crew back in 1999 in the midst of a very tough family situation. Our email discussions and brainstorming sessions about what kind of community we wanted to create were a big part of what sustained me through that time.

Many of the members of that original group and of the community which joined us when we got started are still very precious to me. It feels like together we have created a cyberhome, but MM is more than that for me. We have a wonderful and unique opportunity here to watch and help one another grow and change, through good times and bad. Yet at another level, we have a platform from which we all, every community member, can contribute to changing the way the world around us looks at the complex concept of being "many in one."

I cherish MM for being both to me--a home where being "many" is understood and embraced, and a platform from which to make a difference for others who live this way as well.

Just knowing that I'm not "the only one" helps alot, as does being able to discuss things with people who, more often than not, "get it".

Safety is at the root of what Mosaic Minds means to us. Our life has been enriched in many, many ways because we feel safe to participate at MM. Friendships, acceptance, caring, support, encouragement, growth, strength, hope, the privileger of serving as a Director, even our recent adventurous trip to America - none of these and so many other rewards we have received through being part of the MM community would have been possible without that feeling of safety. A safety created and maintained by MM's small army of past and present volunteers and contributed to by each and every member of the MM community. We thank you all.

Back when Ken was first having people come out all over the place MM was the only place on the internet that had the answers I was seeking, to understand what was happening. Without the kindness and understanding I received here things would have been much much more difficult. I have gone on to form a multiple's chat room but still come here to find answers and visit with friends. It will always be number one on my favorite sites.

MM has furnished a protective haven where we can learn and grow supported by caring individuals who fundamentally understand what we are experiencing. It's a place of unlimited creative resources and has provided us a wealth of opportunities to discover who we truly are. The friends we have made here have become very precious to us and we are exceedingly thankful we had the courage to stay a part of MM's diverse community.

MM is a very safe place to visit. I know that I can say (almost) anything and have it be accepted. I've seen people fight and make up (which is rare in the rest of my life). I've made friends that worry about me when I'm gone. MM feels like a cyber-home. You guys all rocketh! - Jessie

Wow! I am not so sure that I can put into words what MM means to me. Words could never express what I feel in my heart and soul. I remember when I first came I was afraid to post something. But I don't know what I was afraid of. Perhaps I was afraid that I would not be accepted or that I would say something st*p*d. So, Angelise made the first post on WA and then she found the Treehouse, her second home. :) As time went on I saw Angelisse making many good friends. I thought, well, let me try. I soon discovered that I had nothing to fear, and I began to make many good friends, special friends. Friends that understand, care, love. Friends that are safe, courageous, funny, commpassionate, strong (even when not feeling so strong) playfull, creative, beautiful. I will forever hold MM and my friends in my heart in the light.

I'm not quite sure how to put this in words...

This community helped save my marriage. When I talk about some of the things that happen in my life or the jumbled feelings that come along with them, no one runs away screaming. Talking here does not fix my problems, but it certainly helps me feel better about the circumstances and my ability to face those circumstances. Coming here has made me feel accepted, wanted, normal. Best of all, I have developed some true and lasting friendships. And that brings me hope.

I love this community, and I am honored to be a part of it.

In Mosaic Minds we have found friendship and acceptance. Through our experiences on the board we have grown so much over the years. It is nice to have a place to come to where we can share our joys as well as sorrows and have others here who will understand where we are coming from.

Mosaic Minds for me is both part of a journey and a destination in itself.

The journey is the ongoing discovery of new relationships and the growth of old relationships, the getting to know people and learning to work with a variety of people. As someone who has been involved in the management end of Mosaic Minds since its planning stages, I've been learning how to define a community, how to establish appropriate rules and structure, and how to administrate those rules and structures in an ongoing, ever evolving environment. And trying to balance those roles with also being a member of the community itself. Sometimes it gets pretty confusing!

The destination has to do with the management structure of this site. This is the 3rd "survivor" type of community I've been involved with in an administrative capacity. The first two were "owned" by individuals. While there were in each a group of administrative helpers - the final say in issues, both mundane and controversial, always belonged to that owner. When the opportunity to start a new organization presented itself, I hoped to avoid that kind of situation. The creation of a twelve member board of directors as overseers of the organization and site is that destination. No one person can dictate the overall goals, nor the paths to get there. No one person can make any decision. No one person can call the shots.

The group of people who started Mosaic Minds are wonderful and special and I've been honored to work with them and all of the volunteers here. But every single community member contributes to the wealth of information, compassion and experience expressed here every day.

For us, finding Mosaic Minds meant venturing out of a very lonely box, and finding a wonderful family of people who understood everything we'd never been able to explain. It was the end of isolation, and the beginning of self-acceptance. We are so grateful to have found you all.

MM is pretty much my entire social life, my greatest educational resource, and my safest venue for expressin feelings and stuff, all rolled into one. plus i get to babble a lot, which is a nice bonus :) i've made some of the best friends of my life here. i love comin here and jokin around and comparin notes on life and ya know, bein supportive and stuff. i like that we can lean on each other without crushing each other here.
i've also found a whole buncha mentors here. the MM community is by far the most people i've ever truly respected, all in one place.
this is the first place i've ever felt i belonged just as myself. it's a good feeling.

Hi and I like it here too because of I very like my friends here and to talking to them. And Soda Shoppe and some other places and also it is not even scary here. Because of there is lots of safe people here to protecting us. And so we can playing here and talking about some important ones. And serious ones go on a diffrent board to only going there if you want to then and I like that one because then I do not have to seeing it if I do not want to.

As one of the initial group of designers and Directors, Mosaic Minds is one touchstone that no matter what else is happening in our life I can look at and feel a sense of having contributed to something worthwhile. Mosaic Minds is a special place where caring, sharing, laughter, tears, joy, sadness, and above all the support and companionship of others who understand can be found. It has been a mainstay of our journey.

Some of us were very anxious around the time of our dx, and MM provided us with a kind of anchor to maintain some sense of reality. We could ask questions and get advice or support from folks who know first-hand of what we were experiencing. It felt very good to be accepted. And our lil was able to make some very good friends. It's a wonderful community here and we're proud to be a part of it!

Mosaic Minds is a place where we can come to share our thoughts and feelings in relative secret where we may not have the opportunity to do so in any other setting. It is also a place where others gather to do so who are like us and have similar experiences, hardships, and joys which they share and we can relate to. Mosaic minds and the people here mean the world to us. Hearing their stories, getting to know each of them, their sense of humor, their compassion and honesty is one of the biggest inspirations in our lives.

Every person at MM whether they live with DID or are a SO of someone who does is a survivor and a courageous one at that. And through all that we each have been thru we see each other daily coming out the other side, stronger, wiser and more ready to help each other than ever before.

It has meant meeting many new friends who really dont feel like new friends at all. It is learning about other peoples car problems and their best recipes in the same post. It is having a food fight and not having to clean up a mess. It is holding a virtual hand when teardrops are near or a bad dream ruins a night.

What more can we say that could begin to come close to expressing our fondness, gratitude and love for all of MM? It has been a beacon in the darkness for us and I'm sure for many others as well. Thanks go out to all of you for making us a part of your family here at MM.

I very love MM and my friends who they make me happy. And I have fun and I get to play and having long jokes in parties. Playing in MM is the best! This is our safe haven, the place we come to when the world around us is overwhelming (which is often). We have learned a lot about ourselves, and even when what we learned was painful, it was healing. We have laughed, cried, shared burdens and multiplied joys - others as well as our own. I like coming here because its a place where other people understand. Nobody minds if I'm confused. Everyone is friendly and caring.

When I first discovered that I was not alone in my body I was terrified. Luckily there was an online community where I was able to discuss my fears and confusion, and a place where the others with me could express themselves as well.

That community no longer exists but as one of the founding members, I am honored to be able to help provide a space on the internet whose community members are just as caring and understanding. Mosaic Minds provides a place where all of us in the jazzband can talk to other people about our hopes and fears, our dreams and our concerns. It is a place where I have made friends that hold a very special place in my heart.

We had lived out in the middle of the desert mesa for two and a half years with no hot water or means of communication before we got phone lines and internet. It was like finding a real pool of water/sustenance in our dry, lonely, desolate world. It was like coming upon a village out of nowhere...a village of real people who knew many of the same struggles we knew.

we learned we are worthy of human kindness no matter how unpolished we are when compared to others.

MM brought new perspectives of Life and Healing...brought us more and more new things to C Joy N (see joy in). We NOW see joy in things we never even considered before finding MM. and are SO grateful for that.

A place to help me keep from losing all reality, a place to feel safe, where nobody judges because we are "we". A place where its ok to let the others talk, a place where we understand each others pain. A place to help and to be helped.

MM is a place that all of us can come and play, dream and live. It is a safe place where we can be who we are and not be afraid. It is a place to meet others who are like us, and know that we are not alone. It is a place full of friends who make us feel safe, important and special. Through MM we are given a chance to grow, heal and become all we can be.

a safe place to talk with others about a topic that scares most anyone else. The people who make up MM are wise, kind, compassionate and very helpful and supportive.

Without them, I would have been lost.
