we had to put our other kitty down today. she was 16 years old. she had gone deaf, she had stopped eating, and appeared to be in pain when she walked. she was so frail and sickly. we couldn't bear seeing her suffer. she is now with her sister across the rainbow bridge. rest in peace, Kami kitty. crying a lot.

Whe we put our last kitties down it was time. Still, we cried and cried with the first one and just dug ourselves into a hole for the second one. They were both ill and in pain. If they lived in the wild they would have gone off on their own.

You did the right thing Mosaic. It is so hard and hurts us so much. But they stop hurting. You did something good although it feels bad for us.

now that you mention it, in her own way she was trying to go off on her own. she would go to the back corner of our long closet to hide out.

Yes, she would have gone out into the woods if she was an outdoor kitty. Still, I am sorry you lost a family member.

I've never had a kitty but I would dearly like to. Our animal friends really are like family aren't they. My mum and I both cried and cried when our dog died a few years back. He had wandered out of the forest behind our house all skinny and starving so we fed him and he stayed. He became such a good friend to us and made us feel really safe because he was gigantic and really fierce looking but a total sweety underneath. I'm so sorry you have had to say good by to your friend mosaic.
