The other sort of patterns

[The People]

We got some gifts for Christmas, some fr bigs some for littles. Two hates some of the things for her and others. There is a set of animals that include a pig and a cow, nicknames from childhood. The giver would mean no harm. We will donate them to T or perhaps leave them at her office for Littles time out.

The other is a wooden puzzle. Only it doesn't have a picture. It is abstract with a pattern on it. Two gets a knot in her stomach every time she looks at it so that goes too. Anyone else experience the latter? We could make guesses but...

Not specifically with a patterned puzzle, but we'll experience a sudden knot in the stomach with other images we see, even if it doesn't make "logical" sense to upfronters. If we linger on such an image out of curiosity, the knot is usually followed by rising panic. At that point we just remove the image or ourselves from line of sight.

Sounds like you're making good self-care choices and respecting Two's trigger reactions. Kudos.

That is what we mean. This is a wooden puzzle but it is abstract. We have no clue as to what one is supposed to do with it. I think because we cannot pull it together long enough to figure it out. It is a bunch of coloured things that probably aren't random but don't make sense either. Not to us. It creates panic when we look at it.
