Did and health issues? - The People - 03-16-2019

I read an article recently and one of the things that it stated is that we have more than average health issues. Have you noticed this? I am not prone to colds and flus. But have asthma, major allergies, stomach issues and Celiac Disease.

that hasn't held true for us, but we're weird - in spite of our Colorado T saying we have DID i think we better fit the unspecified dissociative disorder category. so we may not be a good case to consider

Interesting Mosaic. You are the only person I know who gave up her DID dx.

RE: Did and health issues? - mosaic - 03-19-2019

well, my current T still has that dx for me. i think the longer the insiders stay quiet the more prone i am to doubt. they've been stirred up and triggered from time to time, so i know they're still there... so i'm just a mess about it.

Look at it this way. You are still the same person you were when I met you. Calmer I think. Whether you are someone who dissociates or a full fledged member of the club, you are still you. SO don't get too messed up. The label isn't important unless it is important to you. And than God they are quiet.

Mosaic I think we all go through that...doubt at being multi or not esp when all is quiet. It's an ongoing battle dont be to hard on yourself.

thanks, people, and collectively US.

Once mine went all quiet for about 2 months.... I really believed it was all just made up and in my head..then they came back and I realized I ad missed them. I was in doubt and that was not the only time. There are several reasons I can think as to why it gets quiet sometimes in there....i hope that your feeling better and that the break won't last a long time. Hugs

when life is relatively stable and normal people go quiet. basically, b/c there's nothing to do and it's boring, or so they've said. sometimes for years. and then i know i imagined it all. especially since there are only painful gaps instead of ugly memories. nothing visible, just reactions and behaviours. then life gets chaotic or challenging/interesting in a way that fits a pattern and back people come. i think inside time isn't connected in any linear way to outside time...

RE: Did and health issues? - Collectively US - 03-27-2019

Yeah I didn't think of that, and that has happened in the past.....for me weather they come out or not for the most part I hear them in my head all rhe time. Quiet is rare.

RE: Did and health issues? - The People - 03-27-2019

We have a buzz in the head. Never thought about it until now. When we are at home. Two talks a lot. When we are out in crowds there is a lot of anxiety and mumbling. However, we keep going out. We generally like people and if we give in to the anxiety we would be stuck at home all the time. Just like the mother was.

for us there's normally a feeling of presence, but often no active attention in day to day life; like feeling alone doing your own thing in a crowd.

hi people

ran this one past my sister (psych major), she drew my attention to the s in ptsd. said ongoing or recurrent stress (from any source) has an effect on overall physical health. may account for the statistic.

I have stress related issues that I believe are due to DID..have trigeminal neuralgia ,have recently had OC and am currently experiencing rheumatoid arthritis type conditions, plus have always suffered with insomnia and headaches.
I also have silent reflux and an associated oesophageal problem.
I think parts have different health problems just as mine seem to have different levels of eyesight problems. Also believe parts have different BP..some have high BP and some very low..
