The Mosaic Minds Community

The interactive community forums are designed to be a gathering place for asking questions, sharing your own experience with dissociation and DID and learning that you are not alone. The MosaicMinds Interactive Community consists of 16 forums divided into five areas: The Visitors’ Center, Main Street, Youth Center, Creativity Corner, and Intensity Heights.

The Visitors’ Center

The only requirement for participation is a willingness to show respect for our community, both collectively and to individuals, and adherence to the guidelines that you will find in the Community Standards. Please take the time to read through the Community Standards & Guidelines and Help Documents.

Community News and Announcements:

The Community News and Announcements forum is where members of the Mosaic Minds management team, including board members, admins, moderators, and techies, will post announcements which affect the community.

Welcome Wagon:

New folks are encouraged to stop by here and introduce yourselves, get acquainted with each other and with longer-term community members, and familiarize themselves with how Mosaic Minds works. To begin participating on MM, please complete the registration process.

Because Welcome Wagon is a place of welcome for newcomers in all stages of healing, we ask that you refrain from posting heavy and triggering material on this forum. We have other forums for discussion of intimacy, spirituality, integration, and details of abuse; please refrain from including such content in your posts on Welcome Wagon.

Help Desk:

The Help Desk is where community members communicate with MM management, including the Tech Team. This is where you can ask questions about how to do things, report technical problems, or just ask general questions about Mosaic Minds.

Answers to questions may also be found by using the Search and Help functions found at the top of the screen. By thoroughly reading the Community Standards & Guidelines and Help Documents,  including the Features of the Forum Software section, you may find the information you are seeking in a more prompt manner without having to wait for a response to a post.

Main Street

Town Square:

Town Square is a general community hangout and discussion forum. Some topics may be intense and may include strong opinions. Issues may sometimes seem to have no right or wrong answer, but many sides nonetheless. We hope that even in disagreement, participants can learn from their discussions here.

Therapy Lane:

This board is for discussing mental health topics, including the therapy process and other choices we may make about psychological and emotional healing. Some of these issues may include: diagnoses, medications, integration, trust, boundaries and building a healthy therapeutic relationship. While professionals may participate and are welcome to do so, they participate merely as educated lay people on this forum.

Health Center:

The Health Center provides an opportunity to discuss the physical and medical issues, including reproductive health, that we may face. Questions and discussions about medications and managing symptoms of these issues are also welcome on this board. While professionals may participate and are welcome to do so, they participate merely as educated lay people on this forum.

Cafe Esprit:

Cafe Esprit is our spirituality forum, where matters that transcend the daily and the mundane are the general topics of discussion. All types of belief systems are welcome, and we ask that you respect others as you would like them to respect your beliefs. Please read the Cafe Esprit Guidelines.

Amusement Park:

The Amusement Park is where the community gathers to celebrate life and the good things in it. At the Amusement Park we remind ourselves of the healing value of laughter and play as a group. Posts on this forum would include games, fun polls and surveys, and other lighthearted topics.

Steam Room:

This board is for talking about the feelings associated with living with dissociation. Here we can explore and express the past and present feelings about trauma which sometime seem to overwhelm us, such as anger, frustrations, sadness, shame and guilt. Caution is advised when visiting this board, and material posted here is likely to be triggering. Each system is responsible for its own safety and for the safety of its members. Please also remember that detailed descriptions of trauma and abuse belong on Hard Hat Zone.

Youth Center

Playground:

The Playground is our kids’ forum. Here the younger members of our community may post about things that are important to them and interact with other kids. While members of any age may post here, adults choosing to interact with the kids are advised to introduce themselves first and to keep adult issues off of this forum. If kids need to talk about triggering topics, they should post on the appropriate board for that topic. We recommend that an older member of your system accompany your kids when they post on the other forums.

The Mall:

The Mall is for tweens and teens to get to know one another, to make friends, and to just hang out. This is a good place for our younger members to just kick back and relax in a friendly atmosphere! Connections made here can remind participants that they are not alone. Here, they can talk about subjects which concern them, including hobbies, interests, self-esteem, and peer pressures. The subjects talked about here will be on a much lighter scale and in language less colorful than on The Alley.

The Alley:

The Alley is likely to be the preferred hangout for our more rebellious, street-wise teens to talk about things that are important to them. Take extra care when visiting this forum, as the language is likely to be colorful. The feelings expressed here are likely to be much stronger than at The Mall.

Creativity Corner

Creative Writing:

The Creative Writing forum is a place for personal stories, poetry, and word art that you wish to share. Both heavy and light content may be found here. Posting here indicates that your system has read the Creativity Corner rules and that your entire system will abide by the rules.

It is each system’s responsibility to ensure their own safety on these forums. The material posted here has the potential to be extremely triggering. Therefore, everyone participates here at his or her own risk.

Visual Arts:

The Visual Arts forum is designed for expressive images. Examples of this would include but not be limited to content about the past, ourselves, our hard feelings, or our healing. ALL potentially disturbing images belong on the Visual Arts forum. Posting here indicates that your system has read the Creativity Corner rules and that your entire system will abide by the rules.

While visual images are part of the Visual Arts Forum, p*rn*graphic images are not allowed.

Intensity Heights

Hard Hat Zone:

The Hard Hat Zone forum gives the MM community a place to express trauma-related memories and intense feelings, including hatred, vengeance, and violent fantasy, with a level of detail and freedom of expression not permitted in other forums. Because of the highly sensitive nature of the content of this forum, access is allowed after completing 1 week and 5 posts after registration.

Respect for others is key to the continued success of this forum. Posting material or behaving in a manner which is contrary to the rules governing the use of this forum will result in the participant being denied access to the forum. It is each system’s responsibility to ensure their own safety on this forum. The material posted here will be extremely triggering to read. Therefore, everyone participates here at his or her own risk. Blaming others for triggering us is not permitted on this or any other MM forum. Because of the nature of this forum, please understand that you may not receive responses to your posts. Discussion of the contents of this forum is not permitted on the other forums.

Posting here indicates that your system has read the Rules of the Hard Hat Zone and that your entire system will abide by the rules.

Sexuality Central:

Acceptance of ourselves as sexual beings after abuse can be complicated and confusing. On Sexuality Central, community members are free to discuss our challenges and our successes in areas of sexuality. As survivors, sharing our experiences and questions in our sexual healing are ways in which we can work on achieving healthy sexual attitudes and relationships.

Development of intimate relationships between members should not be played out on this forum. Such conversations/interactions must be taken to email, IM or other private forums. Also, please refrain from using triggering words and explicit details in your subject title box when posting threads, and remember that reproductive and physical health issues belong on the Health Center forum.
